Mental health is one of the most important and difficult issues facing employers across Canada. There is a tremendous appetite among business leaders to address it in a real, meaningful way.

The Psychologically Safe Workplace Awards — a national, evidence-based annual competition that measures the employee experience with respect to workplace mental health — are designed to do just that.

The awards program provides an opportunity for employers to show they care about their teams and to benchmark their organization’s performance.

Dejero, BASF Canada among winners of 2022 Psychologically Safe Workplace Awards

Dejero was our gold level winner in the inaugural 2022 Psychologically Safe Workplace Awards, hosted by Talent Canada, in partnership with OHS Canada and Howatt HR Consulting.

Christine Vigna, vice-president of people and culture at Dejero in Waterloo, Ont., recently joined the Talent Show to walk through the organization’s mental health journey that culminated in a gold-level victory at the 2022 Psychologically Safe Workplace Awards.

In this episode, Vigna responds to:

  • When did Dejero’s mental health journey begin — and how has it evolved since then?
  • What does it mean to be recognized with a Psychologically Safe Workplace Award?
  • What best practices (in terms of mental health) have you picked up along the way, that you’d be willing to share with other companies?
  • How is the investment Dejero has made in mental health paying off for the company and your staff?
